ADVANCED DYNAMICS
SHUS-JING YING1997
Advanced Dynamics is recognized as an important subject of study for all engineering students and professionals in competitive university programs and througout the industry. This textbook adeptly explains the fundamentals laws of motion, but goes a step beyond bu covering new topics such as gyroscopic effects, missile trajectories, interplanetary missions, multistage rockets, and use of numerical methods. In addition, theories such as the rotation operator are taken to a new degree and developed further, far surpassing comparable textbooks. The book balances theory and application and relates all subjects to practical problems, real world situations, and recent advnaces that affect everyday life. this text distinguihs itself with a more complete introduciton to recent developments in dynamics, new and practical applications to help the reader rmember key theories nd uses, and an appreciation that the subject matter is riddled with ongoing problems that need new solutions. These distinguishing features make Advanced Dynamics more complete, interesting, and understadable than existing textbooks and resource materials. problems appear at the end of each chapter, and a complementary solutions manual is available for professors. Advanced Dynamics is also written for those engineers who want to update their knowledge and stay current on changes in the field, but do not have the opportunity to attend formal classes. Professors ! To receive your solutions manual, email your request and full address to custserv@aiaa.org

Advances in Damage Mechanics: Metals and Metal Matrix Composites
Not Listed1999
This book provides in a single and unified volume a clear and thorough presentation of the recent advances in continuum damage mechanics for metals and metal matrix composites. Emphasis is placed on the theoretical formulation of the different constitutive models in this area, but sections are added to demonstrate the applications of the theory. In addition, some sections contain new material that has not appeared before in the literature.
The book is divided into three major parts: Part I deals with the scalar formulation and is limited to the analysis of isotropic damage in materials; Parts II and III deal with the tensor formulation and is applied to general states of deformation and damage.
The material appearing in this text is limited to plastic deformation and damage in ductile materials (e.g. metals and metal matrix composites) but excludes many of the recent advances made in creep, brittle fracture, and temperature effects since the authors feel that these topics require a separate volume for this presentation. Furthermore, the applications presented in this book are the simplest possible ones and are mainly based on the uniaxial tension test.

CALPHAD (Calculation of Phase Diagrams): A Comprehensive Guide
Saunders1998
This monograph acts as a benchmark to current achievements in the field of Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry, often called CALPHAD which is an acronym for Computer CALculation of PHAse Diagrams. It also acts as a guide to both the basic background of the subject area and the cutting edge of the topic, combining comprehensive discussions of the underlying physical principles of the CALPHAD method with detailed descriptions of their application to real complex multi-component materials.

Approaches which combine both thermodynamic and kinetic models to interpret non-equilibrium phase transformations are also reviewed.
